NFM: Seasonal Cooking Classes


There is no source better than the Nashville Farmers’ Market—feeding Nashville since 1801---to learn how to make the most of fresh, regionally-grown produce. The instructor will offer tips about cooking seasonally and demonstrate a recipe easily re-created in your home kitchen using produce from local farmers. Tastings and samples included!

Classes meet the first Wednesday of every month.

Fire Up The Grill: June 3
Fire up the Grill and Cook the Perfect Steak with William Kruse of Smokin Oaks Organics. Learn how to select the perfect cut, season to perfection and grill locally raised, organic beef.  Chef Kruse will also provide an overview of the farm, its practices and products. Guests will enjoy sampling different cuts throughout the cooking demonstration.  This class will be held on the 7th Avenue patio of the Market.

Create the Perfect Picnic: July 1
Create the perfect picnic with Ed Smith of Bacon and Caviar Catering & Katie Davis of Natchez Hills Winery. Learn how to make three perfect picnic side dishes and how to pair local Tennessee wines for the perfect summer picnic party.

Meal Prep Crash Course: August 5
Don’t let the back to school blues get you down or in a rut!  Stock the fridge and your lunch tote with all the right portions with in season, delicious ingredients sourced from farmers at the Nashville Farmers’ Market.
