Beginning Clogging & Flatfooting

Appalachian percussive dance is a blend of Irish, West African, and Native American Indian dances and has close ties to Appalachian old-time music. Old-time string band music played on fiddle, claw-hammer banjo and guitar is considered dance music and often you will find people flatfooting or clogging at a square dance. We will explore clogging and flatfooting, learn how to create our own steps, and how to improvise to music. No previous experience necessary.
